Thursday October 27, 2016 Breaking Holiday Habits
The holidays are a great time for us to connect with family and friends, and enjoy good food, rest and relaxation. Although they bring great joy and excitement, with the lack of our usual routine it can be easy to fall back into our old habits. You may be tempted to go to extreme measures to undo the damage. Don’t give in to the temptation. A super restrictive diet, for most, will ultimately lead to bingeing. Starving yourself will completely backfire.

Thursday December 3, 2015 Changing Shabbos Meal Expectations
One of the challenges that my clients raise time and again involves being invited out for Shabbos meals. It is actually the reverse of your dilemma! My clients spend time all week planning their meals, shopping, prepping and cooking only to feel concern after receiving a Shabbos meal invitation. Do they tell their host that they prefer to eat clean, real unprocessed foods? That they prefer chicken baked and not fried?

Thursday August 6, 2015Healthy Breakfast Challenges and Solutions
The timing of serving and eating breakfast while everyone in the household is getting dressed and ready for work/school presents its own unique set of challenges.
Breakfast is often described as the most important meal of the day. I would add that while each meal and snack helps us to maintain blood sugar levels, it’s breakfast that fuels us after a long night of sleeping. Thursday March 26, 2015 Your Main Asset Is Your Health: Living a Healthy Life, Free From the Diet-Binge Cycle
I was an accomplished attorney, wife, mother of five children, involved community activist, and PTA president, and seemingly happy in all my roles. On the inside, it was another story entirely. I felt terrible about myself and ashamed that I could be “so together” in all other areas of my life, but with regard to my weight I was a failure. I was consumed with thoughts that people were judging me for my appearance. I was always dieting, always thinking about food and counting points, calories, and continually obsessing over when and what I could eat. I lost weight on my diets, but gained the weight back each time...
